If you have any feature suggestions on how we could improve EarthSwoop, please let us know!

All I can say for now is more categories. Maybe things like "Cities"(Good for city guides), "Natural"(Mountains,Lakes,Valleys...).

Good suggestions. Just keep putting stuff into "other" for now. I'll keep an eye on that category, and when there are enough items to move into their own new category, I'll create it then.

I've had another idea, How about file info like on GEH? It could perhaps show how many times the collection has been viewed, when it was made and so on...

Also on the same lines, how about a rating system for Collections?

Great application.

In addition to a collection of places, there is another use of this: as a tour through a sequence of places. In fact, do you remember those animations in Humphrey Bogart films where an airplane flew from place to place? What that is what I would like to do with EarthSwoop.

So, here are the things I would need in addition to the things you already have:

Allow me to determine the order of places
Allow me to control the speed of moving from one place to another
Allow me to put some sort of limit on the positiioning of the earth so that as I move from place to place, I can make sense out of the trip.
Add a "play" button
Extra Credit: Leave a trail of where I have been (can be just great circle route or even straight line

I think if I had these capabilities, I could create some wonderful animations that could be used many places -- especially recording them as .FLV files with Jing...

I'm hoping that you are working on a Macintosh version of the plugin. Can you comment?

Allow me to determine the order of places
You sort of can already. They're shown alphabetically, so instead of calling them "this" and "that", you could call them "1 - This" and "2 - That", so that it would sort by the numbers.

Allow me to control the speed of moving from one place to another
That's in the plans for a future update.

Those are all great ideas, and we'll certainly look into them.

Well, we're not, but Google certainly is. They plan to release it sometime next month.

Hi,

What would be really good would be if you could arrange kml/kmz files to be viewable as well so that clicking a new button doesn't just take you to a new view, it unloads and uploads a named kml/z file. This would allow you to use GE in a presentation effectively, the tour control for GE the app has always been ropey. For an example of what I'd like to show see my lesson plan:

http://googleearthdesign.blogspot.com/2008/07/brahmaputra-flooding-lesson-plan.html

frankly producting this tool has been on my list of 'programming to do to get me into the GE api' but you appear to be 3/4 of the way there already :)

We have some great buildings and overall downtown area. I would love to see EarthSwoop for Des Moines.

We could add to: www.livingdowntowndesmoines.com

We're discussing that and we'll likely implement it fairly soon.

EarthSwoop can work anywhere you want it to -- just create one! As for 3D buildings in Des Moines, that's up to Google...

Add the thumbnail upload option to the page where new locations are added to a collection.

Overlay name of each place on the thumbnails, as I have done manually here: http://www.earthswoop.com/collection.php?id=269 or else add them below each thumbnail.

I realise that hovering over the thumbnail will show the name, but it is much simpler if the names are all displayed automatically.

Zoom out further and more vertical when moving a long way to the next place, so the user can see which country it is moving to.

Ticking the boxes below Add More Info to the Map, such as Panoramio photos does not seem to work.

Hmm, that's odd. Sorry about that. I'll check it out and see what's going on.
